WOOD WORKER m | f | d
WHAT IS IT?
- Woodworkers mass-produce tables and seating furniture, as well as shop fittings, using wood and wood-based materials. The manufacture of one-off items, single pieces of furniture, and the configuration of furniture to meet customer requirements also form part of the training.
- During their training, woodworkers further learn how to process a range of wood-based materials such as sawn timber, veneers, and sandwich panels, as well as plastics and metal parts, using computer-controlled machines and systems. The formed parts are then joined using anchors, clips, or adhesive.
- Woodworkers create plans, diagrams, and drawings for volume production and single pieces.
- Toward the end of their training, woodworkers cut wood to size using sawing, planing, and milling machines, add veneers or plastic films, and treat the surfaces.
